These set of drugs and even the tests of blood pressure are some of the most highlighting of the sheer ignorance of the conventional medical establishment when it comes to health and healing the body.
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE IS NOT A DISEASE.
To look at hypertension as pathology is something for snake oil salesmen, like the Big Pharma drug lords are.
One should NEVER decrease blood pressure, whether with a drug or an herb.
The way MDs and even NDs are taught to check for hypertension is a very poor test: the almighty blood pressure cuff. This tells you just about nothing other than the body is toxic/stressed which you could tell just by talking to the patient for 10 minutes, or heck, even looking at them. In colder climates, the blood is thicker and slower. In different body types, sizes, sex, race, your muscle in the middle layer of the vessel is different and will give a different result. Are you a body builder or an accountant? What is considered hypertension? Depending on the Country or the year, this seems to change, quite a bit. So where's the science, dudes? Oh wait, there is none.
Checking your blood pressure a few times, telling you it's a "silent killer" to scare the life out of you and then giving you a substance to lower the number on the cuff is simply adding insult to injury. The drugs even doubly so by poisoning an already poisoned system and can cause a huge list of side effects. They only mask the problem which set you up for a worsening of the underlying condition The tests are silly, the drugs even sillier.
"What??? But I could have a STROKE!!!"
Did you ever go for a run and have a stroke? No, but your blood pressure SURE was high! Do you even know what a stroke is? It's LACK of blood flow to an area. Think about that for a few moments as you pop your beta blocker.
So let's ask the all important question that few doctors will ever ask you: WHY is your blood pressure high?
Could it be, because you are toxic? Could it be, because of eating a diet high in MSG, canola oil, high fructose corn syrup, GMO foods, sugar, running table salt, bleached grains, etc., all day long? Could it be you are full of parasites? Could it be because you aren't sleeping properly and getting the 5 REM cycles you need each night to regenerate your nervous system? Could it be you are dehydrated? Could it be because you are chronically stressed? Could it be you don't breathe properly? Or is it because you just went for a run?
Listen folks: Your blood pressure is adaptive. IT ADAPTS!
Your body IS BRILLIANT (I will always keep reminding people of this).
If you are toxic then your blood pressure is going to be high because it has to be. It's saving your life. It's moving oxygen to vital areas of the body like the brain, the kidneys and the liver which is keeping you alive. It needs to move faster in the attempt to repair the damage being done by all the lifestyle choices that are keeping your body inflamed. Do you want this to go on and on? Of course not, you don't want to keep struggling through a toxic state! Unfortunately MD's do not learn very much nutrition in their schools that are governed & paid for by the pharmaceutical industry. How basic physiology was overlooked is another question.
So do YOU want to reduce your blood pressure simply and naturally, in a way that is totally FREE??? Want to not be on a drug that gives you brain damage and reduces your potassium levels?
Well then, get ready to hear your solution: diaphragmatically deep breathe for 10-15 minutes each day. Yup, that's it. This exercise is FAR more effective than dangerous, suppressive medication. I'm not even exaggerating a little.
This is the single most helpful thing that you can do to manage your own blood pressure, help the body get oxygen to it's various locations (instead of forcing it to slow down, giving it less help), assist the immune system to identify the toxins and get them out, and to calm down the sensors in your neck triggered by carbon dioxide, which is an acid, which will in turn respond by naturally regulating your blood pressure. Hooray!
Want to not be toxic anymore? Stop eating non-foods (as I will say each time), drink fresh spring water, JUICE VEGETABLES, eat enough healthy fats, journal before bed, TAKE PLENTY OF GOOD HIMALAYAN CRYSTAL SALT (yes, we need salt for health, just not that horrible iodized table salt which contains bleach and caking agents that can cause hypertension and other problems), stay away from blue light devices before bed (try reading a physical book), sleep in a fully dark room (so that your brain makes melatonin which gives you that REM sleep), exercise for 30 minutes a day (or at least 4-5 times a week), and STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS!
It's really that simple.
